The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications Center provides E-911 service to the citizens of Pueblo County, Colorado. They have state-of-the-art equipment and 14 dedicated and professional communications officers performing duties such as 911 emergency call taking utilizing the national standard Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocols to help them properly dispatch one of the 17 separate law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies within Pueblo County.
The Pueblo Fire Department, in Pueblo Colorado, is responsible for protecting the life and property of city residents and visitors. This critical public safety mission is carried out 24 hours each day with their professional and specially trained personnel; operating from 10 strategically located fire stations around the City of Pueblo. Duties include providing fire-rescue, emergency medical services, Hazardous Materials Response, fire prevention and public education.
The Pueblo West Fire Department provides fire suppression and Emergency Medical Services to the rapidly growing community of Pueblo West Colorado. Formed in 1976, the fire department has evolved from a small volunteer fire fighting organization to a medium sized combination department that has 18 full-time staff members and approximately 32 volunteers operating out of 3 fire stations located throughout Pueblo West. The Pueblo West Fire Department provides critical services in addition to fire/rescue and Emergency Medical Services such as Hazardous Materials Response, building inspections, fire code enforcement, special rescues, fire prevention and public safety education.
The Rocky Mountain Steel Mills' Fire and Rescue, located at 2100 S Freeway in Pueblo, Colorado, is an industrial fire brigade organization providing their vast manufacturing grounds and supporting properties with initial fire suppression and a basic life support ambulance duties to a challenging environment. Rocky Mountain Steel Mills' Fire Department operates out of 1 fire station.
The Beulah Ambulance District provides emergency care and transport to the mountainous region in and surrounding rural residents of Beulah, Colorado and has a service area of 111 square miles. Challenging aspects from rural farming and ranching areas, large land mass subdivisions, rural winding roads and a highly used national forest add to the demands for a small agency. Beulah EMS is comprised of a full-time chief and part-time members whose trainings range from Basic EMT to Paramedic allowing for a variety of experience in our community.
The Rye Fire Protection District, serving the area of Colorado City, San Isabel, to include the Town of Rye Colorado operates out of two stations covering a vast rural area, spanning from high mountain plains to 10 thousand foot mountain peaks along the Greenhorn Mountain range within the San Isabel National Forest, approximately 200 square miles establish the related district. The department is a public department whose members are a combination of full and part time firefighters and EMTs, with the vast majority being paramedics staffing the 3 ALS Ambulances the fire district provides as “service” to the residents and the many travelers along the southern Interstate.
The Pueblo City/County Health Department's mission is to enhance the health and quality of life for the citizens they serve. Services include health education, vital statistics, health care outreach and case management services, family planning counseling, administration of the Women, Infants and Children program, nursing services, annual ambulance inspections and much more.
The Pueblo County government consists of the County Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, Coroner, Board of County Commissioners, Surveyor, Sheriff, Treasurer, and District Attorney. Pueblo County is a member of the Pueblo County EMS Council.
The Southern Colorado Regional EMS and Trauma Advisory Council's mission is to develop and support a regional EMS and Trauma care system to improve the health and safety of residents and visitors within the region. The SCRETAC is a collaborative effort of Custer, Fremont, Huerfano, Las Animas and Pueblo counties.
American Medical Response is a medical transport service company providing both emergent and non-emergent medical transportation in Pueblo, Colorado. American Medical Response offers a full range of medical transportation services; these include 911 response, routine patient transfers, emergency call taking, event standby services at both the basic and advanced level of care. They currently handle thousands of medical transportation calls each year.
Serving Pueblo, Colorado, St. Mary Corwin Medical Center provides emergency medical services as a Level III trauma center, and a Flight For Life helicopter base. It's services include a Stroke Center, a comprehensive cardiovascular program, oncology services, state-of-the-art imaging services, inpatient and outpatient surgery services, an interventional radiology program, and a patient education program.
Founded in 1923, Parkview Medical Center offers acute healthcare and behavioral health specialty services. Licensed for 305 beds. Currently certified as a Level II Trauma Center within the State of Colorado, Parkview provides a full range of healthcare services including being a certified Stroke and Cardiac Center, Emergency Services and Neurological services. The currently have two campuses - the main campus located near down-town Pueblo and their brand new ancillary campus being located within Pueblo West. Their service area includes Pueblo County and 14 surrounding counties.
Pueblo Community College offers initial training at all EMS levels recognized by the State of Colorado (EMT-Basic, EMT-B+, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-I to EMT-P Bridge, and Paramedic). A new course being taught by Pueblo Community College is a 12 Lead ECG course being aimed at enhancing the knowledge base of EMT-Intermediates following recent changes to Rule 500.
The Transportation Technology Center Inc, located 21 miles northeast of Pueblo, Colorado, is a secure and remote site operating with a vast array of specialized testing facilities and railways allowing the American Assn. or Railroads in conjunction with the U.S. Dept. of Transportation isolated testing for all categories of freight and passenger rolling stock, vehicle and track components and safety devices. World class hazardous materials response and training facilities and abilities to create an actual “train wreck” and the resulting management aspects of fire, rescue and emergency medical care to vast visitors from all over the world and employees of the challenging open plains grounds of federally protected span of property being the most isolated, but developed area of the county, can challenge the Basic Life Support staff of the emergency services “on call” providers within the grounds and highly used access roadway, by means of 2 ambulances.
Lake Pueblo - Colorado State Park, rated a fishing “hot spot,” provides 4,500 surface acres of water, 60 miles of shoreline and almost 10,000 acres of land. Along with the sunny days and a mild climate, visitors quickly learn that one day is not enough. Full service marinas and a diversity of campsites welcome guests to stay awhile. Water recreation includes sailing, motor-boating, waterskiing, river tubing and prime fishing. Boaters choose from two full-service marinas and boat ramps. They employ both seasonal as well as fulltime rangers - some of whom are certified at the EMT-Basic or B+ level.
